Miss Independent

This lead single from Clarkson's debut album Thankful (2003) was initially intended for Christina Aguilera's Stripped but left unfinished. The power pop track peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Clarkson her first Grammy nomination in the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category at the 46th Grammy Awards in 2004. Its music video, directed by Liz Friedlander, featured Clarkson singing at a house party.
