Written by Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, and Rick Rubin for Run-D.M.C.'s third album Raising Hell, this 1986 track led to the first endorsement deal between a musical act and an athletic company. The deal came after co-manager Lyor Cohen invited Adidas executive Angelo Anastasio to witness the band's Madison Square Garden concert on July 19, 1986, where the audience held up their Adidas apparel during the song. It reached number 5 on the Hot Black Singles chart.
