No Sugar Tonight
Randy Bachman wrote this song after witnessing a woman tell her biker boyfriend "you ain't getting no sugar tonight" on a California street. Released as the B-side to "American Woman" in June 1970, the single peaked at #1 on both Billboard Hot 100 and RPM charts. RCA initially told Bachman the song was too short, so he and Burton Cummings expanded it by adding Cummings' song "New Mother Nature."
