Written by Warren Cuccurullo, Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and John Taylor, "Ordinary World" was released in December 1992 as the first single from Duran Duran's second self-titled album. The song topped the US Billboard Top 40/Mainstream chart and peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, and won the Performing Right Society award for the year's most performed song in May 1994. The music video was directed by Nick Egan and filmed in California.
