The album won four Grammy Awards from six nominations at the 41st Annual Grammy Awards and has sold over 16 million copies worldwide. The song and album represented a major stylistic departure incorporating electronica, trip hop, and techno-pop with mystical themes reflecting Madonna's embrace of Kabbalah and study of Hinduism and Buddhism.
