"Rock the Boat" was written by Static Major, Eric Seats, and Rapture Stewart, produced by Seats and Stewart for Aaliyah's self-titled 2001 album. Released posthumously, it peaked at #14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The Hype Williams-directed video, filmed in Miami and the Bahamas, was her last; Aaliyah died in a plane crash returning from the shoot on August 25, 2001.
