"Round Here" was written by Adam Duritz, David Bryson, Dave Janusko, Dan Jewett, and Chris Roldan before Counting Crows formed, originating with Duritz and members of the Himalayans. Released as the second single from August and Everything After (1993), the song peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart and number seven on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, with its music video directed by Mark Neale.
