Written by Jud Friedman and Allan Rich and produced by David Foster, "Run to You" was released on June 21, 1993, as the fourth single from The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album, originally intended as a break-up song but rewritten as a love song at the director's request. The song peaked at number 31 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for a 1993 Academy Award for Best Original Song, but lost to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.
