Written by Dallas Austin, Madonna, and Shep Pettibone, "Secret" was released on September 26, 1994, as the lead single from Madonna's sixth studio album Bedtime Stories. The black and white music video was directed by photographer Melodie McDaniel and features Madonna as a singer in a nightclub in Harlem, New York City. The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number one in Brazil, Canada, Finland, and Switzerland.
