Eurythmics - Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves

Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves

Written by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, this feminist anthem appeared on both Eurythmics' Be Yourself Tonight and Aretha Franklin's Who's Zoomin' Who? albums in 1985. The duo originally intended to perform with Tina Turner, but when she was unavailable, they flew to Detroit and recorded with Franklin instead, backed by three of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers and session bassist Nathan East.
