Soldiers of Misfortune
Written by Richard Patrick for Filter's 2008 album Anthems for the Damned, this anti-war song was inspired by a letter from Sgt. Justin L. Eyerly, a Filter fan and Army National Guard member. Eyerly had enlisted to pay for college but was killed by an IED in Iraq after two months of duty. The track premiered on Myspace in February 2008 before its April 29 release.
