Son of a preacher man
Written by John Hurley and Ronnie Wilkins, this song was recorded by Dusty Springfield in September 1968 for her first Atlantic Records album, Dusty in Memphis. The single reached No. 9 in the UK and No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1969, becoming Springfield's last Top 30 hit until her 1987 Pet Shop Boys collaboration, and found a new audience when included on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack in 1994.
