Co-written by Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie C, Geri Halliwell, Matt Rowe, and Richard "Biff" Stannard, "Spice Up Your Life" was written while the Spice Girls were shooting scenes for their 1997 film Spice World. Released as the lead single from their album Spiceworld, it debuted atop the UK Singles Chart, becoming the group's fifth consecutive number one in the United Kingdom, and has since been certified double platinum by the BPI.
