Co-written by Silverchair's Daniel Johns and the Presets' Julian Hamilton, "Straight Lines" debuted at number one on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart in March 2007, becoming the band's first number-one single since 1997's "Freak". The song was the most played song on Australian radio in 2007, won "Single of the Year" at the ARIA Music Awards, and finished second on the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2007 by just 13 votes.
