Sultans Of Swing
Written by Mark Knopfler, "Sultans of Swing" was first recorded as a demo at Pathway Studios in July 1977 and acquired a following after BBC Radio London put it in rotation. After Dire Straits signed with Phonogram Records, they rerecorded it in February 1978 at Basing Street Studios for their debut album, and it reached the top five in Canada, South Africa, and the United States.
