Written by John Mitchell, Tim Greene, and Sue Gatlin, "Two of Hearts" was Stacey Q's biggest hit, first released as an independent 12-inch dance club single by On the Spot Records before Atlantic picked it up after achieving regional sales. The song's global sales success fueled the recording of her debut album Better Than Heaven (1986), and it was released as the album's lead single on June 13, 1986.
