Ray Charles - Unchain my Heart

Unchain my Heart

Written by Bobby Sharp and Teddy Powell, this 1961 recording features Ray Charles backed by the Raelettes singing about wanting freedom from a woman who won't let him go, with saxophonist David "Fathead" Newman soloing on the instrumental interlude. The song reached number 9 on the pop singles chart, number 1 on the R&B singles chart, and became the working title of Charles' 2004 biopic Ray.
