Written by Graham Lyle and Terry Britten for the 1985 film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, this power ballad was recorded by Tina Turner following her multiplatinum album Private Dancer. Released on July 8, 1985, the song received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song, a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and won Ivor Novello Awards in 1986 for Best Contemporary Song and Best Film Theme or Song.
