Released in 1988 as the second single from Van Halen's eighth studio album OU812, this power ballad written by Michael Anthony, Sammy Hagar, Alex Van Halen, and Edward Van Halen hit number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts and number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Eddie Van Halen has stated that the guitar solo is a nod to Eric Clapton, and it became the band's third and last top 10 hit.
