Written by Alex Band and Aaron Kamin, "Wherever You Will Go" was released as The Calling's debut single from their album Camino Palmero in May 2001. The song peaked at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Adult Top 40 for 23 weeks, the second-longest-running number one in that chart's history. It also reached number one in Italy, New Zealand, and Poland, and became a top-10 hit across several European countries.
