Wind Of Change
Written by Klaus Meine following Scorpions' visit to the Soviet Union during perestroika, "Wind of Change" was released as the third single from their album Crazy World (1990). The song topped charts in Germany and six other European countries, becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time with estimated sales of 14 million copies worldwide. The band presented a gold record and $70,000 in royalties from the single to Mikhail Gorbachev in 1991.
