You're So Vain
Carly Simon wrote "You're So Vain" over the course of a year, with the bass guitar introduction played by Klaus Voormann and strings arranged by Simon and orchestrated by Paul Buckmaster. Released as a single in November 1972, it reached number 1 in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in early 1973, and was nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 16th Annual Grammy Awards in 1974.
