Amerie

Amerie is a Korean-American R&B singer who launched her career with her 2002 debut album All I Have. Born in Massachusetts and raised in various locations due to her military family background, she worked with producer Rich Harrison to create a sound blending soul samples with contemporary R&B. Her second album Touch in 2005 featured "1 Thing," built around a sample from The Meters' "Oh, Calcutta!"
