Animal Collective

Animal Collective formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 2003, emerging from a group of childhood friends who had been making experimental music together since high school. The band creates densely layered psychedelic pop that blends electronic production with folk instrumentation and complex vocal harmonies. Their 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion brought them wider recognition, featuring intricate arrangements that showcased their evolution from abstract noise experiments to more accessible song structures.
