Blue Cheer

Blue Cheer formed in San Francisco in 1967 and became known for their extremely loud, distortion-heavy approach to rock music. The power trio's 1968 cover of Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues" reached the Top 20 and showcased their proto-metal sound. Their high-volume blues-rock style influenced the development of heavy metal and stoner rock in subsequent decades.
