Brenda Russell

Brenda Russell is an American singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, New York, who began her solo career in the late 1970s after performing in the duo Brenda and Brian. She is known for her sophisticated blend of pop, soul, and jazz, with "Piano in the Dark" becoming her biggest hit in 1988. Russell has also written songs for numerous other artists throughout her career.
