Cock Robin formed in Los Angeles in 1982, built around the songwriting partnership of Peter Kingsbery and Anna LaCazio. The band achieved substantial success in Europe, particularly with their 1985 self-titled debut album. While they remained relatively unknown in their native United States, songs like "The Promise You Made" and "When Your Heart Is Weak" became major hits across continental Europe.
