Da Brat

Da Brat emerged from Chicago in 1992 as the first solo female rapper to achieve platinum certification with her 1994 debut "Funkdafied." Discovered by Jermaine Dupri after winning a local rap contest, she signed to his So So Def label and brought a distinctive rapid-fire delivery to her tracks. Her singles "Funkdafied" and "Give It 2 You" established her as a prominent voice in 1990s hip-hop.
