Black Eyed Peas formed in Los Angeles in 1995, originally as an alternative hip-hop group featuring will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo. The addition of Fergie in 2002 and their shift toward pop and dance music with the album "Elephunk" brought them mainstream success.
