Dio
Dio formed in 1982 after Ronnie James Dio departed Black Sabbath, bringing his powerful vocal style to his own heavy metal project. The band's debut album "Holy Diver" (1983) featured the title track and "Rainbow in the Dark," both becoming metal standards. Ronnie James Dio had previously fronted Rainbow and replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath, establishing himself as one of heavy metal's most respected vocalists.
