Dokken formed in Los Angeles in 1979, emerging as one of the leading acts in American melodic heavy metal. The band's lineup of Don Dokken, George Lynch, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown created a signature sound that balanced hard rock aggression with polished vocal harmonies. Their albums "Tooth and Nail" (1984) and "Under Lock and Key" (1985) established them as arena rock mainstays during the 1980s metal scene.
