Grandmaster Flash

Grandmaster Flash emerged from the South Bronx in the 1970s, developing turntable techniques that became fundamental to hip-hop. As a DJ and producer, he created innovative methods of mixing and scratching records. Working with the Furious Five, he recorded "The Message" in 1982, which brought socially conscious lyrics to rap music.
