Huey Lewis & The News formed in San Francisco in 1979, developing a blend of rock, pop, and R&B that became hugely successful in the 1980s. Their album "Sports" (1983) sold over 10 million copies and spawned multiple top-ten hits. The band contributed several songs to film soundtracks, with "The Power of Love" from "Back to the Future" becoming one of their biggest singles. They continued their success with "Fore!" (1986) and remained a popular touring act for decades.
