Johnny Rivers emerged from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and became one of the most successful artists of the 1960s with his energetic blend of rock and roll, R&B, and pop. He scored numerous chart hits including "Memphis," "Mountain of Love," and "Secret Agent Man," while also establishing his own record label, Soul City Records. Rivers recorded memorable versions of Motown songs, bringing his own interpretation to classics like "Baby I Need Your Lovin'."
