The Triffids
The Triffids were an Australian rock band formed in Perth in 1976 by David McComb. The group developed a literary, melancholic sound that blended rock with folk and country influences throughout the 1980s. Their 1986 album Born Sandy Devotional featured "Wide Open Road," which became one of the most celebrated Australian songs of the decade, showcasing McComb's evocative songwriting about the Australian landscape.
