Whigfield is the stage name of Danish singer Sannie Charlotte Carlson, who achieved international success with her debut single "Saturday Night" in 1994. The song topped charts across Europe and became one of the best-selling singles of the year. Based in Italy, where she developed her eurodance sound, Whigfield released several more dance singles throughout the 1990s.
