Written by all four band members—Gillian Gilbert, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, and Bernard Sumner—it failed to enter the top 40 in both the UK and US initially, though a 1994 remix charted at number 98 on the Hot 100. Rolling Stone ranked it number 204 on their 2003 list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time."
