The first single from Springsteen's 1987 album Tunnel of Love reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Mainstream Rock chart. The song earned a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 1988 Grammy Awards and reached the top 10 in four additional countries including Canada and Ireland.
