Coming out of the Dark

Written by Gloria Estefan with her husband Emilio Estefan, Jr. and Jon Secada, "Coming Out of the Dark" became Estefan's third number-one single in the United States after its January 1991 release. The song was inspired by her near-fatal tour bus accident on March 20, 1990, specifically by a phrase Emilio wrote during a helicopter ride to the hospital for her back surgery, when a ray of light broke through dark gray skies.
