Derek Burbidge

Derek Burbidge directed some of the earliest promo films for British rock acts in the mid-to-late 1970s, working extensively with The Police across five videos that established their visual identity through performance footage and stylized lighting. His Queen "We Are The Champions" used straightforward concert staging, typical of the era's transition from performance documentation toward conceived visual concepts. He worked primarily in the UK during the format's formative years.
