Roxanne
Written by Sting, "Roxanne" was released on April 7, 1978, in advance of The Police's debut album Outlandos d'Amour, written from the point of view of a man who falls in love with a prostitute. When re-released on April 12, 1979, the song peaked at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2008, "Roxanne" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
