Director X

Director X, a Canadian director born Julien Lutz, worked primarily in hip-hop and R&B video during the late 1990s and 2000s. He directed multiple videos for Sean Paul, including "Gimme the Light" and "Get Busy," as well as early work for Rihanna and Nelly, typically featuring club settings, choreographed dance, and warm color palettes. Director X later expanded into feature film work while continuing his music video practice.
