Written by Cornelius Grant, Eddie Holland, and Norman Whitfield, this 1966 Gordy Records single was produced by Whitfield for the Temptations. The group performed the song on The Ed Sullivan Show on May 28, 1967, and later that year on November 19, 1967, they performed it as a duet with Diana Ross & the Supremes. The track showcased the Temptations' evolution toward the psychedelic soul sound that would define their later work.
