Mrs. Robinson
Written by Paul Simon for Simon & Garfunkel's 1968 album Bookends and released as a single in April 1968, this song became the duo's second chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100 and in 1969 became the first rock song to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Originally begun before the 1967 film The Graduate, the song contains a famous reference to baseball star Joe DiMaggio and finished at No. 6 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs survey of top tunes in American cinema.
