Written by Steve Kipner and Terry Shaddick for her 1981 album Physical, the song spent 10 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, tying the record for most consecutive weeks at the top. The single shipped two million copies in the United States and was certified Platinum by the RIAA, and its suggestive lyrics helped transform Newton-John's clean-cut image into a sexier, more assertive persona.
