Released May 3, 1969, this title track from Sly and the Family Stone's fourth album was written and produced by Sly Stone. The album was certified gold on December 4, 1969, after selling 500,000 copies, peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200, and eventually sold over three million copies. In 2015, the Library of Congress selected the Stand! album for inclusion in the National Recording Registry.
