Written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings about the death of Clapton's four-year-old son Conor, this song was released on the Rush (1991) soundtrack and later recorded for MTV Unplugged at Bray Studios in January 1992. It became Clapton's best-selling single in the United States, reaching number one on Cash Box and number two on Billboard Hot 100, and won three Grammy Awards including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
