KC & The Sunshine Band

KC & The Sunshine Band formed in Miami in 1973, bringing together Harry Wayne Casey (KC) and Richard Finch to create a distinctive blend of funk, R&B, and disco. The group dominated the mid-1970s with five number-one singles including "Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way (I Like It)," and "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty." Their horn-driven, danceable sound made them one of the most successful acts of the disco era, though they also achieved success with the ballad "Please Don't Go" in 1979.
