Owl City

Owl City is the electronic pop project of Minnesota musician Adam Young, who began recording synthesizer-based music in his parents' basement in the mid-2000s. The 2009 single "Fireflies" from the album "Ocean Eyes" became an unexpected worldwide smash, topping the Billboard Hot 100. Young's dreamy, whimsical synthpop style gained him a dedicated following in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
