Simple Minds
Simple Minds formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1977, evolving from punk roots into a new wave and arena rock sound by the mid-1980s. Their 1985 single from "The Breakfast Club" soundtrack brought them American breakthrough success after years of European popularity. The Scottish band's sound incorporated synthesizers, anthemic choruses, and Jim Kerr's distinctive vocals across albums that ranged from post-punk to stadium rock.
